how it works

Authors:

Go to the file where you have your story, open it and highlight all of the text. Right click and select 'Copy'. Now go to the 'Submit stories' section on the main menu.
Enter title of story,
name of the author and click 'Next'.

In the box that appears, right click again and select 'Paste' and your text will load onto the page.

At the bottom is a facility to upload a photo if you want to and also a 'Preview' facility to check that all of the text has loaded. Then it is simply a matter of clicking 'Submit'.

Your story will appear in the Read the Stories section once it has been checked by our admin, normally within twenty four hours.

Judges:

Select a story to read by clicking Read the Stories. You may vote on the selected story at any time by closing the file or by clicking Vote.

The vote slip contains five stars ranging from I didn't like it very much to I Couldn't Put it Down

Select the most appropriate star rating for the story you have read and click Submit.

Tell the editor.

You may want to tell the editor about what you have just read...

Click on Letter to the Editor, write your comments in the e mail and click Send. The best comments [good and bad] may appear in the newspaper.

Want time to think and stroke your chin...

Click on Save to my briefcase and a copy will be saved in the My briefcase file. Once you open it again though you will have to make a decision and vote.

Once you have voted on a story, you will not be able to vote for it again. Your vote will count along with all the others towards deciding the winner of the local competition. The winners in each section will then go on to the regional heats.
